Q & A
Questions & Answers
What is case-based learning?
The case-based approach to teaching public policy provides students with real-world examples in order to illustrate the role of public policy in decision-making. The learner-centered method allows for discussion and interaction between participants. The instructor serves as a facilitator while students collaboratively work through problems and issues that arise when discussing the policy questions at hand. Looking at an policy question through the viewpoint of the decision maker allows the student to see theory put into practice.
What are the goals of the case repository?
The goal of the Case Project is to collaboratively build a global database of cases that are freely available and can be improved and built upon by the entire community.
How does the peer-producing collaboration work?
Currently, anyone interested in co-editing or improving up a case can contact us and will be invited to contribute to the case by means of an online colloborative editing application. This feature is currently in a testing phase.
What are Creative Commons licenses?
The Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 license allows for others to use the cases provided on the Case Project for non-commercial means as long as credit is given to the creator.
